BCU Life Skills Centre's Créche

A créche is provided, free of charge, for the children of mothers and carers accessing the Womens Support Group or One-to-One counselling services. There are, however, a limited number of spaces available.

Qualified (NNEB) and experienced staff are employed for the creche, with ongoing training being provided and written policies strictly adhered to. All statutory checks on the suitability of staff to care for children are made before their employment.

Staff are keen to ensure that the children under their care experience meaningful and stimulating play rather than just being supervised and clients can feel confident that their children are being cared for in a safe and caring environment.

Additionally, the Centre Coordinator ensures that all clients accessing the services understand and accept the policies of the Centre and adhere to them.

A lunch is provided, free of charge, to the children being cared for in the créche.

Refreshments (tea, coffee, and sandwiches etc) are available to clients but are charged for at a reasonable cost.

Forthcoming Events

Various free courses take place throughout the year and include Stress Awareness and Management; Basic Food Hygiene; First Aid (Paediatric and Emergency). These are run subject to funding.
